Thoubal recorded highest Voter turnout

Now it's official.
The percent of polling in the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election conducted on January 28 pegged at 79.35. According to information received from the state Election Office, out of the total 17,41,581 voters (8,51,540 male and 8,90,041 female voters) registered in the Electoral rolls, 13,81,942 of them including 6,26,863male and 6,90,754 female voters turned up to exercise their franchise.
District-wise, Thoubal recorded highest voter turn at 88.33 percent while the least voter turnout has been recorded in Churachandpur at 63.40 percent.
The polling percentage recorded in the rest of the districts are Imphal East district (85.73 percent), Imphal West (85.21 percent), Bishnupur 86.66 percent), Chandel (69.07 percent), Ukhrul (64.65 percent), Senapati (72.77 percent) and Tamenglong (73.68 percent).
Among the 60 Assembly Constituencies of the state, Hiyanglam Assembly Constituency of Thoubal district recorded highest voter turnout at 92.95 percent while the least voter turnout has been recorded in Thanlon Assembly Constituency of Churachandpur district at 47.14 percent.
The percent of voter turnout was appreciably high above 90 in as many as nine Assembly Constituencies.
These Assembly Constituencies are Keirao (90.17 percent) and Lamlai (92.25 percent) in Imphal East district; Lamsang (90.61 percent), Wangoi (91.24 percent) and Mayang Imphal (90.95 percent) in Imphal West district; Oinam (90.05 percent) in Bishnupur district; Wangjing-Tentha (91.57 percent), Wabagai (91.37 percent) and Hiyanglam (92.95 percent) in Thoubal district.
