Two youths hospitalised after electric shocked

Two youth was hospitalised after contacting a low hanging live High Tension (HT) electric wire yesterday .
The incident happened between Molnom village and Aimol Satu village in Tengnoupal district .
The youths were identified as L Thangkhosat Haokip (22) S/o L Letthang Haokip and Onminlen Haokip (22) S/o Paolun Haokip, both hailing from Phalbung village, Tengnoupal district .
The incident happened at around 8.30 am when a group of youth returned home in a vehicle after participating the week-long Youth’s Bible camp, organised by Youth Department, KBC No 16, from Molnom village .
While crossing a bridge over Twisalok stream, Thangkhosat Haokip, who sat on the top of Tata Sumo vehicle, came in contact with a low hanging live HT wire and was flown away from the vehicle by the electric current .
However, no other co-passengers were hurt except his friend Onminlen Haokip .
The duo were immediately rushed to Jeevan hospital, Kakching and Thangkhosat Haokip was later referred to Shija Hospital, Imphal for further treatment.
It may be recalled that the low hanging HT wire above the said bridge also shocked one individual some months back.
