AK Singh, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC Ltd and YK Chaubey, Director (Technical), NHPC Ltd visited Manipur from December 24 to 27 and reviewed the status of upcoming Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Project, which will be of 66 MW capacity and located at Taosang village, Noney district.
AK Singh met the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary on December 24, said a statement issued by NHPC.
The CMD also met various stakeholders and discussed the different aspects of the project and gave assurance that the compensation of the affected people will be provided as per the approved Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Policy and added that all the safety related issues would be taken care of as per the approved DPR and the guidelines from the Government of India, added the statement.
AK Singh also visited various installations of Loktak Power Station including Ithai Barrage, Leimatak power house and project headquarters at Komkeirap and reviewed the ongoing renovation works of Loktak Power Station, the 105 MW capacity power station that has been operational since 1983, to boost efficiency and technology upgradation, further added the statement by NHPC.
