I-League: TRAU FC team leave Imphal

The team of Tiddim Road Athletic Union Football Club (TRAU FC) have left Imphal today for Kolkata where the 14th edition of I-League will be organised at three venues.
The team headed by Nelson Lourembam as manager; AFC License Holder, L Nandakumar as chief coach and AFC License Holder, Kh Surmani as assistant coach, were formally flagged Off by president of TRAU, Bhagaton today.
TRAU FC which debuted the competition last season, it expected to give a better performance this time.
The presence of Tajikistan import Komron Tursunov (vice captain, forward), Brazilian Helder Lobato (defender) and Nigerian Joseph Mayoma Olaleye (forward) and Konsam Phalguni as skipper will surely reinforce the team management and overall performance, said TRAU's secretary Phullen Meitei during the flagged off programme.
He further said that the team also will feature brilliant local players including Bidyashagar Singh and Mangku (Manchong Seiminmang) in the attacking zone.
Shougrakpam Netrajit Singh, Konsam Phalguni, Prikanta Sorokhaibam and Cleaven Hmar are among the promising local players who will man the midfield while Dinesh, James and Naresh will be assisting shielding the opponent attacks as defenders, he continued.
Tiddim Roads Athletic Union FC will be opening the season against Real Kashmir on January 10 next year.
