Two scribes chosen for MACR's Child Rights Award

Imphal, September 21 2017:
Four individuals comprising of two State police officers and two journalists have been named for conferring MACR's Child Rights Award 2017.This was conveyed by a press release of Manipur Alliance for Child Rights (MACR) .
The awardees are Dr Sarangthem Ibomcha Singh, Superintendent of Police Tengnoupal; Yumnam Kheda Singh, Sub-Inspector, In-charge Special Juvenile Police Unit and Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, Imphal East & West; Leivon Jimmy Lamkang, senior reporter, Imphal Free Press and Sagolshem Bigyan, reporter, The People's Chronicle .
The award will be presented by Chief Minister N Biren on the occasion of 8th State Level Children's Cultural Meet, 2017 being organised by MACR in association with Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) on September 29 at Jubilee Hall, Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), the press release said .
The theme of the meet for this year is "Save Us from Drugs and Child Traffickers, If not Today, There will be no Tomorrow" .
MACR in the press release said it has been honouring individuals who have rendered commendable contribution towards protection and promotion of child rights in the State .
While selecting the awardees, the jury members took into strong consideration upon an individual's extraordinary efforts made towards responding to every emerging delicate child rights violation issues in the society such as child trafficking, child sexual abuse, dealing with juvenile agitators, deprivation of right to education of children ect apart from one's assigned routine duties, according to the press release.
