Imphal, September 21 2017:
Normal life was affected by the 24 hours general strike called by National Revolutionary Front Manipur (NRFM) against the Manipur merger agreement .
Shops remained closed at Imphal's main market Khwairamband and surrounding markets and commercial activities were minimal at other places due to the general strike .
Passenger and goods carrier vehicles were few on the roads although private vehicles were seen moving .
The impact of the strike was felt at other districts as inter-district and inter-State vehicles stayed off the road.
However, flight service remained unaffected .
NRFM called the strike to denounce the merger agreement signed between the then King Bodhachandra and India on September 21, 1949 .
