State MTB athlete gets sponsorship from Scott Sports

State lad Nameirakpam Chingkheinganba has
become the 'First Mountain Bike Athlete from Manipur' to get
'Equipment Sponsorship' from Scott Sports India Private
Limited, wherein the famed Swiss-based company offered a
contract of 3 years to N Chingkheinganba to support his equipment
for his training to excel in his athletic career .
The nineteen year-old mountain biker, who hails from
Patsoi Part-IV, received equipment worth Rs 4,42 900 on
Friday in a simple function held at the 'Noren Cycle and
Outdoor Sports' which is only authorised dealer of Scott
Sports products in Manipur, located at Konung Mamang,
Imphal.
And the company is eyeing to offer its sponsorship
to other athletes from the state, according to the authorised
dealer of Scott products.
During the function, the proprietor of 'Noren Cycle and
Outdoor Sports' cum manager of the athlete Chingkhei Hunba
Sapam handed one Scott Mountain Bike (MTB) worth
3,07,900 (INR), which is a full-Carbon frame with a weight
of just 10.5 KG (Scott scale 930 2016) along with a road bike
frame (Scott Solace 10) worth Rs 1,35, 000 that weighs only
1 Kg for his training purpose.
It may be mentioned here that N Chingkheinganba (19) son
of N Tomba is the youngest person from Manipur to climb
Mount Everest in 2013.In mountain biking, he took the first
position in Kohima Down Hills in Junior category (2014) and
had also competed twice in national championships in Pune.
