RBI organises financial literacy camp

The Reserve Bank of India, Imphal branch,
conducted a one day financial literacy camp at
KTL Hr Sec School, Seipet Ramlung, Ukhrul
today, our correspondent reports.
RBI targets to establish more banking
institutions in the rural areas of the State to
make its services and benefits available to
people living in the remotest areas.
Achan Sharon, manager RBI, Imphal
deliberated on the rules and regulation of
RBI.
He also talked about the bank's special
provision for students like education loan
(upto Rs 4 lakh) which can be applied with-
out any guarantor.
Premjoy Singh, DDM, NABARD high-
lighted the various benefits provided by RBI.
The main objective of the financial inclusion
programme by the State Government is to
bring majority of the people in the main
financial stream.
Guite, manager, UBI, Ukhrul branch and
Timrawon, assistant manager, Overseas
Bank also attended the financial literacy
camp.
A quiz competition on basic banking
concept was also held during the pro-
gramme.
Over 250 students from seven different
schools of Ukhrul town attended the one
day financial literacy camp held today.
