YDC warns of launching stir

The Youth Development Committee, Yairipok Changamdabi has today stated that it would resort to intense agitation if Yairipok-Nongpok Keithel stretch is not repaired at the earliest.
Publicity secretary of Youth Development Committee Md Asad Ali said that the road has not been repaired for more than 10 years.
As such, locals have been facing great hardship commuting.
During the dry season, people could not commute to and fro the road due to dust.
With monsoon season approaching, locals would have no other way but to commute through the slushy muddy road again like previous years.
Throughout the year, the people have been suffering under such pitiable condition, he said.
However, Youth Brothers' Society, Changamdabi president Md Abdul Gafur said that the reparation work of the said road could not be initiated, though MLA Th Shyamkumar is keen to take up implement the work, due to some land dispute.
The MLA had even contacted the PWD officials in order the repair the road from his own pocket.
Since the land dispute could not be resolved among the land owners, the work could not be implemented, he added.
In the meantime, it was learned that MLA Th Shyamkumar has instructed to initiate the reparation work with immediate effect.
