MLA Bijoy Koijam today said that bringing changes in other field with time is good but changes in culture with time will amount to dying of the same while expressing concern over the increasing trend of using kurta pajamas in place of pheijom (tradition wear).
Speaking on the occasion of inauguration function of the First State Level Invitation RK Manisana Memorial Hueiyen Lanlong Championship, Bijoy as chief guest said a trend of wearing kurta pajamas in place of traditional wears like pheijom and pumyat in attending wedding ceremony and other religious ceremonies is amount to vanish the age old tradition of the society.
The championship has been organized in relation with the 72nd birth anniversary of the founder of the Universal Friendship Organisation (SATJAL) and organized by RK Manisana Memorial Trust.
He observed it is not encouraging to such acts of replacing cultural related wears by imported cultures.
Now a day, people started wearing red colour pajamas imitating the dresses of the Bollywood stars like Salman Khan.
This shows that "out culture is losing with time".
Not only this, instead of eatable items of the occasion like kabok and other sweets of indigenous produces, the same is replacing by chicken, pork etc.
