The JAC against the killing of Heitlungshel Khaling alias KH Maring of Nungourok Village in Chandel District has called off its proposed indefinite Bandh along the Imphal - Moreh section of NH102 today.
The Joint Action Committee has earlier announced to impose indefinte bandh along the section of NH 102 from 7th July in protest against the State Government for not fulfilling the demands of JAC.
Speaking to media persons, Angdun Maring, Secretary of the JAC said the proposed indefinite bandh has been called off temporarily following an appeal made by Local MLA D Korungthang and his assurance to pave way for negotiating with the Government and JAC at the earliest.
However, the Secretary of the JAC warned to continue with indefinite bandh on NH 102, if the government failed to fulfill the charter of demands which include arresting the culprits and to provide adequate ex-gratia to the bereaved family.
