COVID-19: Sharing of responsibilities eases workloads in Senapati

Managing food for over 3000 inmates in different quarantine centres has never been an easy task.
But the exemplary show of sharing responsibility and contributions from elected members, district administration, Government employees, ADC, CSOs, villagers, Churches, and youth have eased workloads of concerned authorities during the pandemic in Senapati.
ADC Senapati with a committee is providing food-related services to over 25 quarantine centres in DHQ areas twice a day.
In Maram and Mao areas, local organizations, Churches and villagers are playing a great role in running quarantine centres.
Inmates conducting voluntary social work and sanitizing centres are also reported from some centres.
Youth in collaboration with police and officials are guarding quarantine centres 24x7 in most centres while medical teams in Mao, Hospitals and transit centres are regularly monitoring thermal screening and testing operations, said a medical officer.
The voluntary contributions of villagers and Churches have been tremendous since day one, stated one CSO leader.
From constructing the best village quarantine centres to managing food and the disciplined attitude of inmates, the collective effort has been the secret of success.
Quarantine centres in Tungjoy, Oinam Hill and Punanamai Village have won applauds in social media and National papers.
New DC of the district, Lalithambigai K along with her SDOs and staff are also regularly inspecting quarantine centres.
Local Ministers, apart from managing their respective Constituencies, have been frequently visiting quarantine centres to take stock of the situation there and also to donate food items & medical materials.
Here the involvement of CSOs, especially student bodies, ADC members, Government employees have eased the genuine efforts to curb and combat the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.
