Committee condemns Mairenkhun QC incident, hails Govt for timely act

Central Committee for Management of Community Quarantine Centre, Lilong Assembly Constituency has condemned the attack on a volunteer by the inmates of the community quarantine centre set up at the Islamic Baby English School, Lilong Chaobok Mairenkhun in the evening of June 11 .
"The attack on the volunteer is highly condemnable and uncalled for," said the committee in a statement while lauding the State Government for their timely action against the rogue inmates.
The committee further stated that there are around 700 inmates at 14 community quarantine centres in the Assembly segment and the management of these inmates including the transport expenses are currently borne under the MLA's Local Area Development Fund.
The inmates in these quarantine centres are yet to receive monetary aid (Rs 200 per day) promised by the State Government, it alleged while seeking clarification on the matter.
The committee also requested the parents of the inmates to help their wards strictly follow prescribed protocol at quarantine centres and enable Manipur become a COVID-19 free State.
