DEO, CCpur reviews poll preparedness

The District Election Officer, DC Churachandpur has today reviewed the preparedness for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections while also asking officials concerned to ensure foolproof arrangements for the upcoming elections.
Addressing a press meet later in the day at his office chamber, DEO, DC Churachandpur, Shyam Lal Poonia, appealed all concerned including transporters to extend cooperation to the DEO for the smooth conduct of the election.
He said that district level nodal officers have been appointed to look after various works related to the elections including transport management, vulnerability mapping, EVM management etc.
To ensure free, fair and transparent polling, the vulnerability mapping has been kept open, DC Poonia said and added that a total of 370 arms licenses have been issued in the district and all these licensed arms would be collected and deposited at concerned PS by March 10, 2019.A notification has already been issued to this effect, he said while adding that concerned SDO and SDPO would coordinate to ensure that the licensed arms are collected before the stipulated date.
He further said that any license holders who want to be exempted on exceptional cases should write to the DC.
A live demonstration on EVM/VVPAT was also held during the press meet.
Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the apprehension of village chiefs that land holding system would be affected if they certify landless farmers under PM-KISAN scheme, DC Poonia said that the land holding system or land ownership will not be affected in any way in certifying landless farmers.
He said that the scheme is aimed at giving benefits to small and marginal farmers.
He urged the chiefs to endorse landless farmers to get the benefits of PM-KISAN without any misgiving.
