Border villages threaten stir

The border village associations, Kamjong Block has threatened stir over the alleged negligence by the department concerned despite repeated appeals to look into the welfare of the people, reports Mungchan Zimik.
In a statement, Tangkhul Kuki Welfare Association (TKWA), Eastern Kuki Chiefs' Association (EKCA), Chassad Village Authority, Kamjong Development Committee and Bungpa Village Authority alleged that the villages have been deprived of proper health care facilities, regular water and power supplies and good road connectivity.
The village authorities have repeatedly urged the State Government to take up action against the department concerned for failing to discharge their duties efficiently.
The statement said that the villagers would resort to different form of democratic forms of agitation and the department concerned should be held responsible for any untoward incident thereafter.
