Training programme on child protection held

Ukhrul, November 27 2018:
FXB India Suraksha in association with District Child Protection Unit, Ukhrul organized a one day training program for Government officials including Judiciary on child protection & safety at DRDA Conference Hall, Mini Secretariate, Ukhrul today.
The main objective of the programme was to bring together Government officials belonging to different departments liable for the welfare of the children under one platform and discuss on how to strengthen the mechanisms to ensure protection and safety of the children as well combat human trafficking in the district.
38 officials representing the Police Department, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee, Education Department, Medical Department, Integrated Child Development Scheme and Children's Home participated in the training programme, said a statement of Khoinaijam Sunil Meitei, FXB India Suraksha.
The programme was conducted as part of project Mukti-an anti trafficking initiative to combat human trafficking and child sexual abuse in Manipur implemented with the support of ECPAT Luxembourg since 2015 in Imphal and Ukhrul.
Alek Muivah, MJS, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ukhrul, Ringthing Hongchui, SDPO, Ukhrul, and A Wungeriso Shangh, Project Officer, Mukti project, FXB India Suraksha attended the event as resource persons.
