Manipur's T Ragiya Chanu won a gold medal in the girls U-32 kg category event today while Salam Tondonba fetched a gold medal in 23 kg event at the ongoing 64th National School Games in Taekwondo for U-14 boys and girls hoisted by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports under the auspices of School Games Federation of India Taekwondo Training Hall, Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
Manipur with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal are leading the medal tally while Maharashtra players are following Manipur closely with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.
T Ragiya defeated CBSE's PS Thuarita Rao in the final to win the gold while Kerala's Arsiya Bano TK and KVS's Kriti Mina who reached upto semi-finals claimed the bronze medals.
Salam Tondonba claimed the gold medal beating SU Roshan of CBSE in the final while semi-finallists Sanal of Chandigarh and Lungamba of Nagaland settled with bronze medals.
In the U-16 kg category final, Ridhi Janardhan added a gold medal beating Varsha Gupta of Madhya Pradesh in the final while Gujarat's Arpita overcame Maharashtra's Pratiksha Dasharat to win the U-20 category gold.
Manipur's M Bansika and Delhi's Bhumi Rathore claimed the bronze medals for U-20 kg girls category.
In the U-24 kg final bout for U-14 girls, R Sandhya of Tamil Nadu beat Vanlalmudiki of Mizoram to fetch the gold medal while Haryana's Rakhi and Maharashtra's Swaranjali claimed the bronze medals.
Nagaland's Lalsethong won the U-18 boys category gold medal while NVS's Vinay N claimed the silver medal.
Nikhil Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir and M Jagdish of Andhra Pradesh were able to bagged the bronze medals in this category.
