Ukhrul, February 21 2021:
A one day interactive session on the various ADC developmental programmes executed in the district, especially for the headmen of Phungyar DCC was held at Phungreitang, Ukhrul district, today.
During the programme, Ukhrul ADC vice chairman, M Isaac highlighted the various developmental programmes executed under 'District Council funds', that were sponsored by the Central and State Government to avoid public misconception on the utilization of the said funds.
Inspite of the limited fund source, the incumbent councillors have work hard to bring development in their respective areas and also to ensure the fulfilment of their promises made to the people at different capacities, he added.
M Isaac mentioned some of the works executed through District Council fund in his Phungyar DCC - one new ADC school was established in Phungyar village, construction of playground, barrack type teachers quarter, school building, school fencing, IVR construction, village gate, etc.
The programmes were implemented in a transparent manner with prior information to the concerned village leaders for proper monitoring of the works, he asserted.
M Isaac further appealed to the headmen present in the meeting to give him one more chance in the upcoming ADC election 2021 to represent his people in the Autonomous District Council.
M Isaac continued that he will contest the election through the NPF's ticket and will support the Naga political movement for self determination.
The headmen present in the meeting lauded M Isaac and expressed their willingness to work together with him to bring change in the area.
Altogether, 14 headmen from the villages of Sorbung, Chunga, South Tusom, Phungyar, Maileng, Lousing, Patbung, Sorde, Kumram, Soreithen, Lousing Khunthak, Khambi, Pungee and Ngayophung participated in the interactive session.
