Manipur People's Party (MPP) has on Saturday taken out a mass silent rally in and around Imphal by defying the restriction order under CrPC 144 against the reported fake encounter incident of Khwairamband Bazar on July 23 .
The MPP has also submitted a representation to the Governor later demanding the ouster of SPF government in Manipur.
The rally was carried out from three directions.

Police have foiled the rallyists coming from Thangmeiband side at Khoyathong.
However, a rally led by former MPP President Dr L Chandramani and Paonam Achou which began from MPP Office and the rally led by MPP President Dr Nimaichand Luwang, MLA O Joy and MLA RK Anand converged at Keishamthong.
Police have blocked the rallyists at Keishampat Bridge and prevented them from further procession.
Police have allowed selected members of the MPP to hand over the memorandum to the Governor later.
The MPP representatives had handed over the memorandum to the Secretary to Governor, RK Nimai in the absence of the Governor.
RK Nimai was said to have assured to reach the memorandum to the Governor as soon as possible.
Addressing media persons at Keishampat where members of the party were waiting for their leaders, Dr Nimaichand Luwang said his party will not pull back its agitation until O Ibobi was ousted from his post.
He said the agitation will be intensified in all districts of the state.
He said the MPP had launched various agitations against the Khwairamband incident of July 23.The Governor was also urged earlier to facilitate the dismissal of Chief Minister O Ibobi from his post.
A public dialogue on the incident was also organised.
He said based on the recommendations during the Public Dialogue the party will launch various forms of agitation including burning of effigies of the CM, police officers, and police commandos.
Dr Nimaichand also categorically asserted that his party will continue until the Chief Minister resigns from his post on moral ground.
He said the CM has to take moral obligation to resign for giving false statement on the floor of the House.
He also demanded criminal case be filed against the guilty police personnel.
He added, the conflict situation in Manipur should be solved through political dialogue.
Among others, the MPP incorporates the demands to further the institution of the judicial enquiry, to institute another judicial enquiry into all past cases of suspected fake encounters/extra-judicial killings in the state, appropriate compensation to the victims' families and ouster of the present government.
