Even though the cease work strike of the employees of the Imphal Municipality has enter three months, no step to clear the pending salaries taken up by the chairperson alleged the councilors on the opposition side today.
Briefing to the media persons today the IMC office, spokesperson of the opposition group, Democratic Councilors' Front, Joykumar said the employees of the IMC has been on cease work strike since May 20 last till today.
The prolong cease work strike has totally paralyzed all works of the council.
But the chairperson is still remaining silent.
The strike of the employees is the second longest ever strike launched by the employees of the IMC and in the meantime, without the signature of the chairperson, an amount of Rs 128000 was allegedly tried to withdraw from the IMC fund, he said.
He further alleged that the chairperson has also violated the Act of the council by not giving notice to some of the councilors for the meeting of the council which would held once in a month with five day advance notice to the councilors.
Chairperson, Ranisana did not given notice to some of the councilors while calling the monthly meeting.
She also handed over the two-wheeler parking places to the state transport department on June 9 this year which will amount to sharp reduction of income of the council.
Apart from this, the result of the interview for the appointment of six computer operators on contract basis which was held on 11 month back did not declared.
The interview which was held with the participation of the experts of NIC had recommended six candidates qualified for the job.
The delay in the declaration of the result is the malpractice in the council by the chairperson, he alleged.
Considering all this factors, she is not worthy of being a chairperson.
The monthly income of the IMC is around Rs 25 lakh but the council incurred around Rs 37 lakh which make due of a huge amount, he observed and appealed to the government for providing a package for the IMC to coup up with the over expenditure.
