Kangpokpi, July 29 2017:
After reports that CBI's Anti-Corruption Branch, Jabalpur, will investigate the alleged recruitment scam by officials of the Tribal University, Amarkantak, Peoples Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA) Education Cell, Manipur expressed desire for the CBI to investigate IGNTU-RCM issue and lodge a complaint against its Vice Chancellor .
PRJA Education Cell alleged that Indira Gandhi National Tribal University-Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU-RCM) Vice Chancellor, Professor TV Kattimani track record is similarly blemished .
K Bowang Kho, convenor, PRJA Education Cell, said that student community of the IGNTU-Regional campus, Manipur, have been leaving their post graduate courses midway because of the VC’s mismanagement .
He said that Professor TV Kattimani's only contributions towards the regional campus, till date are reducing the intake capacity in each Department every year, visiting the State only to attend functions and to meet politicians and run some Departments in Amarkantak and the regional campus without proper approval of or compliance with the UGC and UGC guidelines respectively .
He also pointed out that infrastructure building and other developments in the University exist only because of students' protests and help from the Government of Manipur and added that shifting the University to its new campus at Makhan in Kangpokpi district was possible only because of the physical efforts expended by the students themselves .
While expressing belief that the CBI will lodge a complaint against TV Kattimani, Bowang Kho also urged the authority concerned to take up necessary actions.
