Churachandpur, July 29 2017:
At least three organizations of the Simtes today called on the Government to initiate stern measures to book the culprit responsible for the killing of Thangkhanlun Taitom within 24 hours even as they insisted on not claiming the body if the authority concerned fails to take action within the stipulated time .
Condemning the killing which they allege was committed by a militant group based in Churachandpur and under SoO purportedly led by one Romeo, a statement jointly issued by Simte Tribe Council, Simte Youth Organsiation and Khangthah Zuun Pawl said it was unfathomable how human lives and dignity; our intrinsic value as a human could be snuffed out with such dreadful profanity by the perpetrators .
'Painful as it is, the fateful incident happened subsequent to the plea of his (victim's) elder brother T Pauminlian who in good faith admitted to his brother’s wrongful act, whatsoever, only to be dropped dead later late in the night at their own gate/residence,' it said .
Further the statement made a fervent appeal to its sister organisations to join them in condemning such heinous crime and show solidarity to their outcry.
