Imphal, July 29 2017:
Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Karam Shyam today launched 5 kg Free Trade LPG at Ms PCTC, Khoyathong in the presence of Commissioner (CAF&PD) K Radhakumar .
Speaking at the launch programme organised by IOC, Karam Shyam said that people of the State could derive maximum benefits of Central Govt schemes if people are fully aware of the schemes.
But due to lack of awareness, the benefits of Central schemes could not be fully availed in the State .
The 5 kg free trade LPG launched today would be very beneficial to students as well as small families.
It is also praiseworthy that the 5 kg free trade LPG will be made available at PCTC, Khoyathong, Konsam Oil Service, Langthabal near MU and Lamshang Oil Service, near CAU, he said while adding that the centres would be increased soon .
The Minister also exuded confidence that the problem due to scarcity of bigger size LPG cylinders would be minimised to a large extent .
Karam Shyam further lauded the initiatives of PM Modi to alleviate the hazard posed by smoke generated by firewood .
In today’s world, development is no longer measured by large scale manufacturing of high-end weapons.
But a leader who is able to ensure welfare schemes to the maximum to the poor and needy is considered influential, he said .
Govt of India is adopting pro-poor policies and most of the schemes launched are oriented to give maximum benefits to the needy section.
As such, people of the State should also take full advantage of the Central schemes, he said.
