AR resumes skill development classes under PMKVY

With an initiative to transform the unemployed youth of border town of Moreh into skilled manpower, Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) commenced skill development training at the Multi Skill Developement Centre set up at Moreh in May this year in collaboration with Humanism Foundation under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, said a release of Assam Rifles.
The Centre runs eight courses: Computer Hardware Technician, Make Up Artist and Retail Sales Associate.
Before lockdown, Assam Rifles along with its associate foundation had already trained 540 students in different streams, the release said.
Classes were resumed after making adequate arrangement for personal hygiene and social distancing for staff and students.
Assessment of already trained batch of Retail Sales Associate was also conducted for 30 students starting from 22 October onwards, it said.
Assam Rifles in Moreh has been putting in concerted efforts to support students by organising career counselling sessions, skill development training and other awareness programmes to motivate the youth and channelize their energy for an inclusive growth of the region, it said.
The effort was very well appreciated by students, their parents and other CSOs in Moreh, it added.
