Open classical music competition conducted at Kakching

Kha Manipur Hindustani Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Kakching (KMHSMK) in collaboration with Sangeet Natak Akademi New Delhi jointly conducted a State level open classical music competition at the auditorium of Mahavidyalaya at DSA road, Kakching Turel Wangma.
The competition was organised in connection with the 47th foundation day of Kha Manipur Hindustani Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Kakching.
The opening ceremony of the competition was attended by KMHSMK former president Kshetrimayum Mangal Singh as a chief guest; president Dr Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh as functional president while secretary cum Principal of the Mahavidyalaya, Nabakumar Sharma delivered a keynote address.
The competition was conducted in three categories- vocal, instrumental and percussion music.
Th Sangeeta Devi from Lamdeng Khunou Lamshang; N Arbind Singh from Nachou Awang Leikai, Bishnupur and A Anand Singh from Takyel Khongbal, Imphal West bagged the first, second and third positions of the vocal competition.
S Jingarani Devi from Salam Awang Leikai, Imphal West was given a consolation prize.
In the instrumental event, Kh Vivekananda from Wangkhei; M Bharat Bhushanna from Ghari Awang Leikai and O Jiranson from Khumbong Awang Leikai were declared first, second and third respectively.
The consolation prize winner of the category is Th Binanda Singh from Mayang Imphal.
The winners of the percussion competition (Tabla) are Hidangmayum Baputomba Sharma from Nambol Makha Leikai (1st); James Rajkumar from Sagolband (2nd) Elangbam Bijoykumar Singh and Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi (3rd). Kh Jamesbond from Khurai; I Athouba from Singjamei and Kh Shamu from Yaiskul received consolation prizes.
