Students, guardians stage sit-in protest

Bishnupur, July 17 2019:
A sit in protest was staged by students and guardians condemning the alleged attempt of some people to tarnish and malign the images of Kumbi Awang High School and Kumbi Awang Khunou Aided Primary School under Kumbi Municipal Council, Bishnupur district, today.
Speaking to media persons, Headmaster N Bijoy said that both Kumbi Awang Khunou Aided Primary School and Kumbi Awang High School have been manned by only one Principal since 1962, for respective tenure.
All the headmasters of the schools were approved and appointed by the ZEO and Manipur Board, he added However, he clarified that the allegations made by the former Principal in the local dailies which stated that he (former Principal) still holds the office of the Principal for both the school is wrong and added that the allegation is a attempt to humiliate him (present Principal) .

Bijoy further clarified that he was selected and appointed after going through all necessary procedures and added that it is rather unfortunate on the part of the former Principal for making such wrong statements and allegedly making the police arrest him (Bijoy) on false grounds.
Bijoy went on to state that, later, when the Court witnessed all his genuine papers/documents, he was released on bail.
Maintaining that both the school share a common campus, Bijoy claimed that he is the legitimate Principal of the schools.
Concerning another allegations of the former Principal wherein he stated that a certificate issued by Bijoy is not genuine.
Bijoy appealed all authorities concerned to find out the real culprit and serve suitable punishment.
Meanwhile.
School Management Committee president N Ibojao said that the former Principal left the office in December, 2017 and he is not related to any activity of the school.
Various placards and slogans demanding no-disturbance zone in educational institutions were raised during the sit in protest.
