World Consumer Rights Day at Senapati

Joining the global observation of the World Consumer Rights Day, the Senapati District Consumers Club, Manipur in a simple function observed the day with an awareness programme at Consumers' office with MS Jerome, General Secretary, SDCC as the moderator.
Observance of two-minute silence in remembrance of Late Madam Lucy Chisa, an Action Committee member who lost her life during her mission to Tinsukia for Consumer's rights in LPG issue in Senapati District, also marked the observance programme.
Speaking at the occasion, SDWA President A Lolia stated that the women's body is very much concerned over the frequent price hike of essential commodities which is seriously affecting the poorer section of the people.
The women leader while endorsing unconditional support to the SDCC has encouraged the club to pursue the present movement with more commitment.
SDSA President LR John lauded the undying efforts of the SDCC to pursue the consumer's issue without any prejudice.
Representatives from SKAWWA, Mao Students, People's Action for Change, NPMHR, Consumer activist and other dignitaries were present during the said observation programme.
