International Nurses' Day

Agriculture Minister V Hangkhanlian today, on the International Nurses' Day, lauded the dedication and contribution of nurses in caring patients and stressed on the need for a compassionate heart for the noble profession during an observation held at the District Hospital Churachandpur.
Addressing the first International Nurses Day observation in the district, Hangkhanlian said that Doctors and Nurses have pivotal roles to care patients with a loving hand and voice and as such noble action often comforts an ailing person however severe their ailment might be.
He also adviced the Nurses to be kind and compassionate to their patients.
Refering to the practice of transferring Govt employees by politicians, he said that elected representatives are not meant to be tormentors but claimed that when there are instances of some employees going overboard they, time and again, fall victims of such practices.
The International Nurses' Day was observed for the first time in Churachandpur with Trained Nurses' Association of India (TNAI), Manipur State Branch and CCpur Nurses jointly hosting the event.
Besides the minister Dr Kimngaihching Simte, CMO; Dr V.C.Pau Tonsing, Medical Superintendent District Hospital; Th.Nandarani Devi, President, TNAI Manipur State Branch; Sangthuam Tonsing i/c Nursing Superintendent District Hospital and Shyam Lal Poonia, Deputy Commissioner Churachandpur attended the celebration.
