DLCC meeting held

A District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting chaired by Shyam Lal Poonia, Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur was held today at the Conference Hall of DC's office in which issues relating to protection of land belonging to various Government departments, studying/assessing feasibility of setting up a detention cum rehabilitation centre for drug addicts, action plan to contain outbreak of locust at Lungthul area were discussed among others issues.
In the meeting, it was reportedly resolved that land belonging to various Govt departments/offices in the district be protected against encroachers and the concerned DLOs were instructed by the DC to conduct proper demarcation of the land allotted to their departments and submit a copy of their patta to the district administration.
Regarding drug addicts and their menace in the society, the DLCC meeting has also decided to hold another meeting of concerned departments such as DSWO, CMO, Police, etc on September 8 (Monday) at 11 AM at the SP's Office to study or assess the feasibility of setting up a detention cum rehabilitation centre for drug addicts.
As a security advisor, Sr SP Kabib K has also urged all concerned DLOs to install CCTV cameras within their respective premises in order to keep it under surveillance round the clock.
Besides, it will also facilitate swift tracking of criminal activities, if any, in and around Govt offices.
Expressing serious concern over the reported infestation of locust in Lungthul area under Singat sub-division, the DC has instructed the District Agriculture Officer to send a team of officials to survey and assess the situation at the earliest.
Preparatory meeting for upcoming sporting events in the district like FootGal-2018 (5 girls A-side night Futsal tournament) which is slated to begin from October 8 at Rayburn HS and the Hill Districts Badminton Championship scheduled to begin early next month was another highlight of the DLCC meeting today.
