Documentary film "Miukeng" released

A documentary film entitled "Miukeng" produced by the Prodigal Multimedia was released at Mayum Media and Communication Hall, Kwakeithel here on Wednesday.
The 5th production of the Prodigal Multimedia is directed by Dee Abonmai and the film focuses on giving a massage on the effect of Jhum cultivation to the hill people who are practicing it.
K Humalianbou, Vice Chairman, Autonomous District Council (ADC) Tamenglong, K Panmei retired IAS, Panti Golmei, president, Rongmei Luphom cum human rights defender and Ronel Haobam, film maker and National Awardee took part at the function as chief guest, president and special invitees respectively.
Addressing the releasing function, K Panmei said the title of the documentary film 'Miukeng' itself is a name of a Zeliangrong harvesting festival when every year, villagers wander and find out which paddy field produces the largest quantity of crops.
He said the film also gives a clear message to the villagers to extend support and help to the village poor.
Film maker and National Awardee, Ronel Haobam who was also speaking at the function remarked that the film Miuken is a rare documentary film in the country and expressed hope that this will occupy a significant place in the world of documentary films of India.
