International Day against Drug Abuse observed

Thoubal, June 26 2016:
The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Thoubal, in collaboration with TESRA, Tentha observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at TESRA Hall, Tentha today.
The programme was organized under the theme 'Listen first' .
Altogether, 62 youths participated in the observance, a statement issued by DYC, NYK, Thoubal, informed.
K Lokendro Singh, Member, DACYP, NYK, Thoubal and N Ibungo Singh, president, TESRA were the presidium members of the programme.
Resource person Ch Basanta Singh, former District Programme Officer of NYK, Thoubal said that some of the drugs used by the youths are narcotics, stimulants, divergence, hallucinogens, solvents and cannabis.
He appealed to the youth present in the programme not to use drugs.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by N Surchandra Singh, secretary, TESRA.
The day was also observed at IRDEO complex, Thoubal Wangbal organised by the District Social Welfare Office, Thoubal in association with NGOs and IRCA Thoubal on the theme.
Wangjing-Lamding Municipal Council Ward no 3 Councillor Y Ibopishak, IRDEO, Wangbal secretary Kh Kumar Singh and Thoubal District Social Welfare Officer Th Nillakumar Singh graced the observance as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
