Sit-ins staged, orgs demand immediate arrest of culprits involved in Moreh firing

Denouncing the Moreh firing of July 13, Molnoi Area Kuki Women Human Rights Tengnoupal and Kuki Women Human Rights, Chandel have staged sit-in protests at Molnoi and Kotsoiphai village today.
Womenfolk in large numbers condemned the attack on civilians and demanded arrest of the culprits at the earliest.
Even after seven days, the Government has failed to arrest the culprits.
We have been anticipating fast and swift action from the police in arresting the culprits involved in the attack, said representatives of the women human rights organisations at the sit-ins.
Such attack on the innocent civilian have caused havoc in the town.
Society has no place for such inhuman act.
The Government and the concerned authorities including the police should take up all necessary actions to deter any future attacks of such kind, said the women.
Chairperson of Molnoi Area Kuki Women Human Rights Lamvah Haokip took part in the sit-in staged at Molnoi while Chairperson of Kuki Women Human Rights Tengnoupal Lheikim took part in the sit-in staged at Kotsoiphai, Sugnu Serou Lamkhai.
In the attack on July 13, the residential houses belong to Thongkhomang Touthang, Chongkholun Lhungdim and (L) Onkholet Haokip - located at Gamnom Veng, Ward Number 2, Moreh in Tengnoupal district were attacked by unknown armed assailants.
Till now, no individual/group have claimed responsibility.
Meanwhile a joint statement of the women rights organisations have demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and urged the Government to take up stringent actions against the culprits.
The organisations have also urged the Government to provide financial assistance to the victims as compensation for the damages incurred during the attack on them/their houses.
The organisations cautioned that it will launch intense agitation if the Government failed to meet their demands.
