Imphal, July 20 2018:
All Manipur Madrassa Modernisation Teachers Welfare Association has demanded the removal of WAQF Board Chairman Fajur Rahim.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, secretary of the association, Md Abdul Jabar alleged that WAQF Board Chairman has indulged in various corruption cases and that he has conducted unethical practices in managing the WAQF office.
Urging the State Government to immediately remove the Chairman from his seat, the association claimed that WAQF Board Manipur implemented and modernised 30 Madrassa from the traditional Madrassas.
On the other hand, 150 teachers who gave their interviews in 2010, started their duties at the 30 Madrassas from 2016 onwards but the authorities concerned has not taken up any step or action to regularise the selected teachers, he claimed.
The State Government should regularise the total 150 teachers immediately and remove the Chairman of WAQF Board at the earliest, he conveyed while warning that the association will resort to stringent agitations from July 30, if the State Government fails to meet the demands of the association.
