Dr Nehginpao visits Kpi, interacts with people

Dr Nehginpao Kipgen, a political scientist who is Associate Professor and Executive Director at Center for Southeast Asian Studies, OP Jindal Global University, New Delhi visited Kangpokpi today as part of his visit to the State and interacted with the people on various issues.
A proud father of two sons, Dr Nehginpao Kipgen along with his wife Hathoihlam Samte arrived this afternoon at around 12.30 pm at Kangpokpi DHQs where members of Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization, Kangpokpi Youth Union, intellectuals, well-wishers, members of GUDUP tendered a warm reception at KTC office.
While greeting on his auspicious visit, Lunseh Kipgen, Chairman, Kangpokpi Town Committee presented a traditional gift to the political scientist as a mark of exhibiting gratitude and happiness to have him in the town while the KWWO, KYU and members of GUDUP also presented New Year gifts to the family.
Among many other issues, abolition of VIP culture, foreign education and Government of India seriousness over Act East Policy are the main issues discussed and interacted during the interaction session with the political scientist.
Dr Nehginpao Kipgen, who has been travelling in many foreign countries across the globe for global seminar, conference, etc as a panelist, resource persons and speaker said that in most of the developed country VIP culture had already been eradicated and everyone live in a common status.
You will not find chief guest, guest of honour or functional president seated on the dais in front the audience in any events.
He continued that such culture bring into being oneness, brotherhood, unity, love and peace among the people which has always been the main factor for development and growth while adding that it is time we also abandon the VIP culture etched in each everyone of us and practice the culture that can bring us more closer and better understanding.
He also said that IAS, IPS or any other Government jobs are guaranteed to every educated person especially in this era of immense creativity and innovativeness among the youths before adding that parents and guardians should support their child's education not only for Government jobs but they must also look into the interest of the child.
He further motivated parents and guardians to give their children the best education and at the same time they should also ensure their children become not only an educated but a responsible persons for the society and the nation as a whole.
The Associate Professor also stressed on various requirements and process for availing foreign education while extending his willingness to help them but cautioned the concerned authority not to give recommendation to any persons as they are not genuinely aware of the person's character and authenticity.
While giving lecture on the Act East Policy in response to a query from an audience.
Dr Nehginpao Kipgen said that the Government of India is very much serious about the Act East Policy mainly for three reasons such as Economy, Geo Strategic/Politics and National Security.
However, despite of the Government seriousness over the Act East Policy, the Political Scientist opined that the implementing part so far is not up to the mark even after almost five years of the declaration of Act East Policy.
The members of Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organizations, Kangpokpi Youth Union and other civil body's leaders, intellectual and well-wishers appreciated the Political Scientist for his down to earth attitude and wished the family a successful life in their future endeavours.
