Cleanliness drive conducted at Indo-Myanmar border

Officials of India and Myanmar in association with leaders of CSOs of Moreh has conducted cleanliness drive at no man's land area from near Namphalong bazar to Border Pillar No 78 today since 7 am.
The drive was conducted after ADC Moreh received an official invitation from Myanmar to organize a cleanliness drive with the Indian officials on January 7.Officials of Myanmar appealed the Indian officials to check the disposal of waste at no man's land area during the drive while SP Tengnoupal Dr S Ibomcha Singh representing India also assured that necessary steps will be taken to look after the waste disposal mechanism and informed the DC Tamu to stop movement of Myanmar vehicles on Indian side from Indo-Myanmar Friendship Bridge as Myanmar administration banned movement of Indian vehicle on Myanmar side since April 2018.DC Tamu also assured that plying of vehicles will be stopped after proper demarcation of border.
DC Tengnoupal H Rupachandra (IAS), SDC Moreh H Romeo, Commandant 43 AR Sumit Snood, Town Commander 43 AR Major RK Sharma, ASP Moreh Kh Robinsun, DSP (CDO) Thomas Thokchom attended the cleanliness drive from Indian side while DC Tamu Myint Tin Aung, Commandant 50 Infantry Regiment Tin Tun Lin and other officials of various department attended the drive from Myanmar.
SP Tengnoupal Dr S Ibomcha said that the drive was conducted to improve the friendship ties between India and Myanmar and such kind of activities will be conducted in future to enhance the relationship between the two countries.
