The economic blockade imposed on the two National Highways 39 and 53, has been 'terminated/suspended' following the High Court order in respect of protection of the services of 835 primary teachers appointed in 2006 allowing them to continue in service and directing the Autonomous District Council to pay their arrear pay and allowances.
In a press communiqu� issued on Wednesday, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) for 2006 Autonomous District Council Teachers Appointed Parents and Guardians Manipur expressed heartfelt gratitude to the general public for extending full co-operation during the economic blockade imposed on the two National Highways and also apologized for any excesses that might have taken place during the blockade.
In this regard, the JAC will convene an emergency meeting on October 8 at Majorkhul community hall at 10 am in which all teachers, parents and guardians are informed to be present without fail, added the press statement.
