Wildlife week concludes

The 62nd Wildlife week celebration organised by Bishnupur Forest Division with the theme ‘Celebrating Rights of Wildlife’ concluded today in which nearly 300 students from various schools and colleges under Moirang participated .
State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority Manipur Chairman Dr Kh Shamungou flagged off the rally from INA memorial complex, Moirang and ended at Intermediate College .
Numerous slogans, placards were used during the rally like “God love birds and created trees, men love birds and created cages”, ” Let’s stop deforestation”, “Protect forest and nature will protect you” .
State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority Manipur Chairman Dr Kh Shamungou, Divisional Forest Officer, Bishnupur Debala Leiphrakpam, Advance Educational Society Moirang secretary U Ajit Singh and Advance Intermediate College Principal K Jugindro Singh as dignitaries .
Speaking at the closing function as resource persons, Honorary Wildlife Wardens, Bishnupur district K Jugeshwor Singh and RK Birjit Singh stressed on the means and ways to save wild animals and birds .
The winners of the article writing and painting competition which was conducted as a part of the celebration were also awarded .
The students who took part in the bird watching trip were also awarded with simple gifts.
