Woman's death attributed to doctor's laxity

A doctor has been charged of being responsible for the death of a woman who delivered a baby through CS.
The victim is Thounaojam (O) Sunita (37) w/o Rishikesh of Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai.
Speaking to newsmen, the husband of Sunita, Rishikesh said his wife delivered a baby girl through Caesarian section on Oct 26 at Subha Hospital around 7.30am.She began to bleed ten minutes after the operation.
As referred by the surgeon who performed the operation, Dr Kharibam Paikhomba, the victim was admitted to the ICU of Raj Polyclinic the same day around 11.30, Rishikesh recounted.
However, she passed away yesterday around 8.30am.The baby is said to be fine though.
Since the early stage of her pregnancy, the victim mother regularly consulted Dr Imo of Subha Hospital, he said adding there has been no complication until the CS was performed.
Alleging negligence on the part of the surgeon who performed the operation that resulted to the death of his wife, Rishikesh demanded the authority concerned to take fitting action against the surgeon.
