Extending Ningol Chakkouba greetings to the people of the State, Consumers' Club, Manipur has appealed the general public to contact the club in case they feel that their rights are violated by any shopkeeper or business establishment.
In a statement, the club said that it would carry out mobile publicity at different areas of Imphal city to help the consumers in connection with Ningol Chakkouba rush.
Although, the Constitution of India stands for protection of consumers' rights under Consumer Protection Act 1986, consumer rights are being violated every day in the State, the press release said.
Saying most of the essential commodities and foodstuff are brought in from other States, the club also appealed to the people of the State not to be extravagant in celebrating the festival.
