The 2nd Anal Naga People's convention cum
general body meeting on the theme "Coming
together is a beginning, keeping together is
progress & working together is success" was
held on July 18 at Lambung village.
Organised by Anal civil societies under
the aegis of ANTA, the programme was
attended by public leaders, social workers,
village chiefs, student and women leaders.
During the convention, the gathering re-
solved to constitute a committee for erection
of a memorial stone to commemorate Anal
Naga National movement and endorse the
Indo-Naga framework agreement.
The convention resolved to oppose the
proposal for creation of SDC office at
Moiphai village and urge the State Govern-
ment to draw proper demarcation of Khenjoy
sub-division boundary prior to approving the
new SDC office and also to reinstate Vomku
Block at the earliest.
It also resolved to protect and safeguard
natural resources such as land, forest and
water within Anal dominion while urging the bend-saw owners to stop its work by
September this year.
The convention also resolved to work
towards peaceful settlement of pending land
issues at various locations with neighbour-
ing brethren and promote peaceful
co-existence.
