MLA visits Maha Union School

Sending out strong warning to those involved in the burning down of the principal's office of Maha Union Govt Hr Sec School, Chandel, circle MLA St Nunglhung Victor has said today that those involved in the arson would not be spared from getting punishment while also asking them to surrender immediately.
The MLA has visited the school today after the principal's office was razed by suspected arsonists on August 15 night.
Besides the Additional SP of Chandel, representatives of CNPO, NWUC, Monsang Tribe Union, NCA, ANTA have accompanied the MLA today.
Speaking to the accompanying media team, MLA N Victor said the attack was not targeted against the school, but against the students' community of Chandel while adding that the act of arson deserves condemnation from all quarters.
Asking the arsonists to surrender immediately, the MLA said the family members of those involved should be arrested in case they abscond.
Principal of the School, K Sangkham Maring said that properties worth around 24 lakh including Rs 2 lakh in cash were damaged in the arson attack.
He appealed all concerned to refrain from committing such acts in future.
He also handed over a complain letter to the Education (S) Director through the MLA.
Meanwhile, Chandel based civil organisations have planned a mass silent protest to register protest of the incident on August 19 .
