Imphal, August 11, 2014:
Akoijam Jiban and his nephews, today, lodged a complaint against the JAC formed against Monika's death.
In a press conference held at Manipur Press club today, Akoijam Jiban, husband of late Monika condemned the JAC's burning down of his late sister's house.
He also clarified that his wife, Monika, was not murdered but died a natural death due to chest pain.
He further added that Monika, before marriage, had had an accident for which she frequently complained of chest pain.
The day of her demise, he continued, Monika was having trouble breathing due to acute pain in the chest.
The post mortem reports, he continued, would prove that Monika died a natural dead and was not murdered.
The JAC acted before the post mortem reports arrived and burnt down, for no better reason, the house of his orphaned nephews with the only explaination that Jiban visited the house frequently.
Jiban strongly condemned the act of the JAC which has added to the woes of his nephews.
He further asserts that his marriage with Monika was a love marriage.
They had married against the consent of the bride's parents on May this year.
He further denied the charges that he occasionally thrashed or straved his wife.
