Imphal, July 08 2013:
Kshetrimayum Hitendra alias Kritibas alias Lallumba (41), the self-styled President of the proscribed KCP Lallumba group has reportedly gone on hiding after withdrawing Rs 1, 92, 68, 800 meant for rehabilitation of 144 cadres of the outfit from the United Bank of India, North AOC Branch in connivance with the manager of the bank branch.
Disclosing this while talking to media somewhere in Imphal today today, General Secretary of the outfit Wahengbam Ramananda alias Rousow informed that the amount was given by the Government as one-time payment to the outfit's cadres after KCP Lallumba group signed the Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the State and Central Governments in 2010 .
Hitendra who hails from Thinungei Maning Leikai in Bishnupur district withdrew the amount deposited in the bank on June 6 in connivance with the branch manager.
Since then, he had gone on hiding along with his family members and three other cadres of the outfit, Ramanand informed.
Ramanand went on to inform that after signing of the tripartite agreement on August 6, 2010, the Government of India had sanctioned Rs 1, 92, 68, 800 through the State Govt for providing Rs 2,50,000 each to 114 cadres of the outfit who are lodging in the camp of 7th MR at Khabeisoi as one-time payment for rehabilitating them.
The said amount had been deposited by the State Government into an account of the UBI branch at North AOC.
The said amount included Rs 5 lakh each which is to be given to the officers of the outfit.
However, Hitendra withdrew the entire amount without the approval of Central Committee of the outfit.
Taking serious note over the matter, a meeting of the Central Committee of the outfit has decided to expel Hitendra from the organization, he added.
Hitendra should refund the amount withdrawn from the bank.
The State Government should take up punitive action against Hitendra and in case of failure; the Government should hand over the amount to the outfit.
The Principal Secretary has been informed about the matter in a letter, Ramanand informed, adding that more letters will be given to other competent authorities including Additional DGP LM Khoute and Headquarters IGAR (South), etc, in this regard.
The Gen Secry has also directed the three cadres who have gone along with Hitendra to come back immediately.
