COVID-19 awareness programme held

Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) organised a COVID-19 awareness programme at Hiyangthang Mamang Leikai Lairembi Viswarjana Hall in Imphal west district today as a part of its continuous effort to spread awareness to reduce stigmatization of Covid-19 recovered patients and frontline warriors and also to curb the spread of the virus.
The programme was jointly organised by Kamakhya Social Youth Club, Hiyangthang Mamang Leikai Nishaband and CADA Imphal West district committee.
Laitonjam Mani, advisor KSYC; Sarungbam Nabakumar, advisor KSYC; Dipanjit Ningthoujam, vice-president CADA and Kongbrailatpam Bina, secretary general CADA Imphal West district committee took part in the programme as presidium members.
Mayengbam Budhi, secretary organisation CADA also attended the programme as a resource person.
Kongbrailatpam Bina, secretary general of CADA Imphal West district committee said that though scientists in India and the world over are searching for a vaccine, no such vaccine has been found till now.
She also urged everyone to wear face masks, maintain social distancing and follow other SOPs as mandated by the State Government.
A similar programme was also held today at Sugnu Municipal Council hall in Kakching district organised by CADA Kakching district committee, Thoubal District United Women Development Organisation (Thoubal Ima) and COVID-19 Protection force, Sugnu.
It was attended by Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA; Abujam Pishak, executive member Thoubal Ima; Moirangthem Sarat, president COVID-19 Protection Force, Sugnu; Sorokhaibam Nena, president CADA Kakching district committee, Kakching and Angom Brajabashi, ex-chairperson Sugnu Municipal Council as presidium members.
Ningthoujam Doren, vice-president CADA also attended the programme as a resource person.
Face masks were distributed before the start of the programme and SOPs were followed strictly throughout the programme.
