CM leads in condoling demise of Nandakumar

Chief Minister N Biren Singh and others on Sunday condoled the demise of former Minister Laishram Nandakumar Singh.
In his condolence message, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, "I am deeply aggrieved to learn about the demise of former Minister and senior politician Laishram Nandakumar Singh at the age of 86 on December 5 .
A lawyer by profession, Nandakumar was elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly for three consecutive terms in 2002, 2007 and 2012 .
He had served as the Minister of MAHUD, Law and Legislative Affairs, Health, Education, Labour and Revenue.
"Nandakumar also had a long career in law spanning around three decades before joining politics.
He had not only served the Bar Council of India but also the Bar Councils of different States like Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh in different capacities," said the Chief Minister.
"In his demise the State has lost not only an upright public leader but also a legal luminary whose absence would be hard to fill," said the Chief Minister while sharing the grief of the bereaved family.
Speaker Y Khemchand Singh also condoled the demise of L Nandakumar Singh.
"I am deeply shocked to hear the news of passing away of L Nandakumar Singh, former Minister under Congress led Government of Manipur.
He breathed his last at RIMS.
I express my heartfelt condolences on his demise and share the grief of his bereaved family members, near and dear ones," said the Speaker.
Young Paite Association, Lamphel Unit has also condoled the demise of L Nandakumar Singh.
A condolence meeting was held at its Lamphel office today and the executive committee recalled contributions made by L Nandakumar in uplifting the Paite community.
The members observed one minute silence as a mark of respect and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
