National De-Worming programme launched at Bishnupur

The National De-worming Day, which is an annual event, will be launched on February 8 all over the country and in line with the annual event, District Programme Officer, ICDS Th Phullobati Devi and Chief Medical Officer Bishnupur Dr T Manihar launched the National De-worming day for Bishnupur District at Thanga High School today.
The launching programme of the National De-Worming Day organized by District Health Society Bishnupur at the conference hall of Thanga High School was attended by District Programme Officer, ICDS Th Phullobati Devi; Chief Medical Officer Bishnupur Dr T Manihar; District AIDS Control Officer Bishnpur Dr L Raichandra Singh; and Head Master Thanga High School H Gambhi Singh as dignitaries in the presence of large number of various officials of medical and education departments of the District.
Speaking at the occasion, CMO Bishnupur Dr T Manihar Singh stressed on the importance of having a healthy society for healthy future adding that there are about 223 Govt schools, 90 Private schools and 971 Aganwadi and Mini Anganwadi Centre in the district".
This year the department is aiming to administer De-Worming tablets to 91,067 children in the age group of 1 to 19 years.
The launching programme to administer the de-worming medicine will be conducted on February 8 all over the country and will repeat the administering of medicine for left out children on February 18 as Mob Up Day.
Sincere efforts are required both from the parents and officials of the department to make it successful", said Dr T Manihar Singh.
Chief guest DPO, ICDS Th Phullobati Devi said that urged the Anganwadi and Mini Angwandati workers to discharge their duties at the highest level to make the flagship programme initiated by the health department a mega success.
District AIDS Control Officer Dr L Raichandra Singh said that taking medicine in mass vaccination proramme does not mean that the child is protected from all diseases at all time adding that it is also important to drink clean water, wash hands before eating and eat only clean and hygienic foods to lead a healthy life.
