The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is hiring contractual nurses for engaging in its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Covid ward.
According to an office memorandum issued by the Administrative Officer of RIMS today, the applicants should be a BSc Nursing passed out in 2018, 2019 or 2020 from the nursing college of the health institute.
The office memo mentioned that those hired on a contractual basis will be given an honorarium of Rs 400 per day and covered under the insurance schemes given to health workers by the Government.
Contract nurses who work for 100 days will be given an appreciation certificate, it said and clarified that RIMS resolved to hire nurses who passed out from the institute itself as issuance of a fresh job advertisement is not feasible for the time being.
It may be mentioned here that the Ministry of Family Welfare, had in its letter dated May 3, 2021, instructed RIMS authority to hire contract nurses and give priorities at the time of job recruitments to those who are engaged for 100 days or more for Covid duty.
However, the same is not reflected in today's memorandum.
