COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi, Waiton GP encourage frontline workers

The COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi in association with Waiton Gram Panchayat and Gem Public School have organised "Appreciation Function of Front Line Workers" acknowledging their role in the pandemic times today.
Delivering the keynote address, general secretary of the COVID-19 Joint Task Force Pourabi, K London stated that it would be wrong to mistreat the frontline workers and to level the work of the Medical Department in fighting the COVID-19 outbreak as a scam.
COVID-19 is a global issue and maintenance of physical distance, regular use of hand sanitizer and face masks are the only ways to avoid contact with the disease, the general secretary said.
K London also appreciated front line workers for their immense role in keeping the COVID-19 situation in Pourabi in control after number of positive cases had climbed to 20.CMO of Imphal East Longjam Indira, while highlighting the vulnerability to those with co-morbid health conditions also expressed concern of the alarming surge of positive cases in the Imphal East district.
She also appealed to volunteers of local bodies who will be serving in the frontline as soon as the district administration announced a containment zone, to exert a concerted effort to prevent further spread of the disease by ensuring strict adherence to the guidelines issued in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
Maintaining that all possible efforts and measures are in place to contain the spread of the contagion, she also appealed to all to be very careful since the vaccine for the disease is not available yet.
Pradhan of Waiton GP, P Surbala who was attending the function as the chief guest also expressed immense gratitude to the COVID-19 Task Force Pourabi for their timely consideration and act which had greatly enabled them to control the COVID-19 situation in the area.
The dedication of the local task force volunteers, who had also faced subjugation and lowly treatments, is commendable, she said while also congratulating the people of Pourabi for their success in controlling the situation by enforcing the COVID-19 related SOPs in the area.
While applauding the initiative to raise awareness through famous personalities and drives conducted by various CSOs and NGOs, she also assured that all developmental and other works entrusted to the local bodies will be carried out.
President of the COVID-19 Task Force Pourabi, K Lalachand also expressed gratitude to the CMO-Imphal East, Police Department and mediapersons for their support towards the cause.
