Former Chief Minister RK Dorendra and former Parliamentarian Kim Gangte have been nominated as chairman and president of the manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress.
Speaking to newspersons at the Thangal Bazar head office of State unit TC today, seasoned politician RK Dorendra said appointment of himself and Kim Gangte in the said posts is in compliance with the Mamata Banerjee-led political organisation's tradition.
All India Trinamool Mahila Congress' president Dr Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, who is also in-charge of TC's Manipur Pradesh forwarded official appointment letters effective from April 20 this year, said the State unit chairman who also handed over appointment copies to the newspersons.
Highlighting that under the Trinamool Congress constitution, the chairman has superior power than the president, Dorendra also confided that party's high command has issued directive for close coordination between the chairman and the president.
Conveying that the party high command had given the go ahead for the forthcoming Autonomous District Council elections, he also disclosed that 16 candidates would contest the first phase ADC poll on Trinamool Congress ticket.
