CBI raids NIT DDO's office, residence

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Anti Corruption Bureau, Imphal branch today raided the residence and office chamber of a Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) cum Assistant Registrar of National Information Technology (NIT), Manipur Sources informed that two teams of CBI Anti Corruption Bureau Imphal Branch led by a DSP raided the house of DDO cum Assistant Register National Information technology (NIT) Laithangbam Dorendro at Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak starting from early morning and it continued till late in the evening.
His office chamber located at NIT Manipur Administration Block was also raided in the morning and it ended at 10.30 am.
The raids were conducted in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
One CBI team took Dorendro to his office chamber at around 7 am and raided the office chamber in the presence of Dorendro himself till 10.30 am When a reporter of The Sangai Express rushed to NIT Manipur, a team of CBI, Anti Corruption Bureau was found interrogating Dorendro and checking the documents at his office chamber.
During the raids carried out by two teams of CBI, Anti Corruption Bureau Imphal Branch, cash, jewellery and document related to purchase of land were recovered.
The CBI teams also seized some documents from the office chamber of L Dorendro.
It may be mentioned that NIT Manipur was established in 2010 at Takyel under a temporary arrangement before it was shifted to Langol in 2014 .
CBI (ACB) team raided two store rooms of RIMS hospital on August 29 following a complaint against non-distribution of materials supplied by the Government for distribution to patients of the hospital and on that day, the CBI team seized some documents related to purchasing and procuring several materials including medicines Recently, CBI has registered a case for preliminary inquiry against the Store-in-Charge of RIMS Hospital S Sanatomba of Hiyangthang.
